Fans have criticized Aston Villa for ignoring their request to cap ticket prices for the Champions League. The fan advisory board had asked the club to have the prices at category A Premier League rates, but that didn’t happen.
As such, supporters and football fans have to pay between £70 and £97 per home game. And Aston Villa, which hasn’t competed at the highest level since the 1982-83 season, has been accused of exploiting supporters.
The Aston Villa supporters’ trust, in an official statement, said clear pricing should have been made no higher than that of Category A game. It highlighted the ticket price as extremely disappointing, given the recent matchday delays of over 30 minutes getting into the ground, and problems with access to seating and toilet facilities during Aston Villa’s first Premier League home game against Arsenal on August 24.

The Trust stated that Aston Villa’s new ticket price is out of touch even with the UEFA. It said Aston Villa fans have waited for decades for their club to get into the championship and when it finally did, it hiked the ticket price. The fans board described this as a punishment for the club’s supporters.
