Fans are unhappy with Portugal’s performance in the Nations League, particularly with Cristiano Ronaldo failing to score and a 0-0 draw with Scotland. They found his on-field tantrum embarrassing.
Ronaldo felt the referee Lawrence Visser blew the final whistle a little too early and showed his frustration and anger with gestures. Visser sounded the whistle to end the match during stoppage time when Portugal won a corner kick, which was awarded by the assistant referee.
As such, the Portugal captain felt his team had been deprived of a potential win against Scotland.

Roberto Martinez, Portugal’s manager, said his team was missing the magic. He highlighted that they had the desire to win, and worked very well. Martinez said it was a dangerous game because Portugal could have had possession.
He pointed out that the Portugal team failed to control the ball and Scotland pressed on and needed very little to score. But Martinez commended his players and their talent. He said they had players on the inside and the outside, they defended very well but didn’t take any risks. Martinez gave credit to Scotland for keeping up the pace and the pressure.
