Venezuela wins against Ecuador in opening match Copa America

Venezuela Claims Victory 2-1 Against One Man Short Ecuador: Copa America 2024. On Saturday night, Venezuela defeated Ecuador 2-1 in the Group B match at Copa America 2024. Ecuador suffered a setback 22 minutes into the game when captain Enner Valencia was given a red card for a wild challenge on Jose Martinez. This was Ecuador’s sixth Copa America red card since 2015.

The Venezuelan midfielder was knocked in the chest and neck area which sent him reeling to the ground in pain. Valencia’s antics had football enthusiasts online comparing his challenge to a kung-fu move or karate kick. Ecuador was initially given a yellow card but then referee Wilmar Perez dished out a red.

40th minute into the game, Ecuador took the lead when Jeremy Sarmiento scored. The Venezuela side was quick with an equalizer from Jhonder Cadiz, followed by a second goal from Eduard Bello. Venezuela took a 2-1 lead in the 74th minute.

Venezuela Marks First Win at CONMEBOL Copa America

The Venezuelan football team La Vinotinto’s win against Ecuador marks the first comeback in Venezuela’s history at CONMEBOL Copa America. The opening match for Venezuela also highlighted two goals from substitutes Jhonder Cadiz and Eduard Bello in their debut.

Vinotinto showed great gameplay, possession and control. The Venezuelan team created opportunities and launched one attack after another.
