CSK Team History
The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) Founded in 2008 are among one of the franchise cricket teams of IPL based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. In 2008 was sold to the India Cements for $91 million, making it the 4th most expensive team in the league behind Mumbai, Bangalore, and Hyderabad. India Cements acquired the rights to the CSK for 10 years.

CSK Team Owner
Former ICC Chairman N. Srinivasan was the de-facto owner of the CSK, by means of his position as the vice-chairman and managing director of India Cements Ltd. The franchise was transferred to a separate entity named CSK Cricket Ltd.
After the Supreme Court struck down the controversial amendment to the BCCI constitution’s clause 6.2.4 that allowed BCCI board officials to have a commercial interest in the IPL and the Champions League Twenty20 on 22 January 2015.
CSK’s theme song is the “Whistle Podu” designed by Aravind–Shankar.

In terms of winning percentage, Chennai is second behind Mumbai with 58.88 percent. Let us tell you here that Mumbai remains in first place with a 62.5 percent win.
At present, CSK record holder Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni is the only player from all the IPL teams who have remained the captain of the team since its inception. Also, the first captain who win the IPL title.

CSK retained 4 players & bought 21 players in the mega auction, out of 8 were overseas & 17 Indian players. After Punjab Kings, Chennai Super Kings has the most money left (2.95 cr) in the purse after the auction

CSK Brand Value
Brand Value of CSK- Chennai Super Kings has purchased for Rs 360 crore (about US$91 million) in 2008. CSK’s brand value in 2018 was 65 million $. In 2020 it was estimated 59.8 Million $. CSK is the first IPL franchise which brand value crossed $1 billion.

Controversy – CSK suspended from IPL in 2016 & 17
Winner – The Chennai team has so far won the IPL title four times,(2010,2011, 2018 & 2021) while it has been runner-up five times.( 2008,2012,2013,2015 & 2019)

CSK New Jersy
IPL’s one of the most successful team CSK’s jersey has donned a new look ahead for IPL 2021.TVS Eurogrip is their new sponsor. The team jersey has 4 stars on the top of the franchise’s logo, depicting their 4-title victories in 2010, 2011, 2018 & 2021
Yellow is the color of CSK since its inception. The T-shirt also has an image of the Indian army to it since most people know Dhoni’s respect towards them.
