All the eight teams Mumbai Indians, Royal challengers Bangalore, Chennai Super Kings, Delhi capitals, Rajasthan Royals, Kolkata Knight Riders, Punjab Kings, and Sunrisers Hyderabad would fight for the title.

DELHI CAPITALS
Delhi capitals have got a huge blow this season just before the start. Their regular captain Shreyas Iyer has been ruled out of the series due to a shoulder injury.
Young Rishabh Pant fills his shoes as the next captain of Delhi capitals for IPL 2021. Delhi has a balanced batting attack with the likes of Prithvi Shaw, Shikhar Dhawan, Ajinkya Rahane, Hetmyer, etc.

Their bowling attack is led by Kagiso Rabada and Avesh Khan, Axa Patel is also very good. Delhi capitals would be one of the top favorites for the playoff this season. DC with 20 points in 13 games has qualified for the playoff.

CHENNAI SUPER KINGS
Chennai Super Kings had an IPL 2020 to forget. The team failed to reach the playoffs for the first time in the history of IPL. Dhoni-led CSK would be trying their level best to forget the past season’s performance and focus on this season.
Last season, they could not avail of the service of Suresh Raina as he left the season due to personal reasons. Their premier all-rounder Dwayne bravo also could not play last season due to injury. Both these players coming back in the side would bring in a lot of experience as both of these players have been a regular name for CSK.

MS Dhoni would be expected to score good runs this season. This might be the last season for Dhoni as a player, so he would like to depart from IPL with good memories and a trophy. CSK is in 2nd position with 18 points in IPL 2021 points table.
CSK was the first team who out from the playoffs spot in IPL 2020. CSK is the first team who qualify for playoffs this season with 18 points in 12 matches.
RCB
RCB has been one of the most unsuccessful teams of IPL so far. They have failed to win any IPL trophy but finished runners-up in 3 IPL seasons between 2009-16.

The team has few world-class players Kohli, AB de Villiers, Glenn Maxwell, who can be very lethal. We feel that if RCB manages to play quality cricket as per their potential then they have a very good team to reach the playoff and even win the trophy.
RCB is the third team that qualify for the playoffs
MUMBAI INDIANS
Mumbai Indians is the most successful team in IPL history. Rohit Sharma-led team has till now won 5 IPL trophies. They would be a sure-shot favorite for the playoff spot this season. During the IPL auctions, they retained the core team.

With the likes of Rohit Sharma, Ishaan Kishan, Quinton de Kock, and Suryakumar Yadav in the batting order, they have a very strong batting unit. In the bowling unit, the bowling attack led by Jaspreet Bumrah, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Piyush Chawla would form a good bowling attack. The team would like to continue its winning streak this season.
We predicted 4 teams for playoffs. Out of 4 teams, 3 qualified. We had predicted the Mumbai team also reaching the playoffs, which turned out to be wrong. Kolkata almost reached into playoffs.
