Kl Rahul was born in Mangalore, Karnataka to a professor and the former director at the National Institute of Technology. His parents spotted a spark in his cricket calibers and they arranged for formal training to help him achieve his potential. At the age of 18, he moved to Bangalore in search of his professional cricket career.

KL Rahul’s Cricketing Journey
KL Rahul initially started playing first-class cricket for Karnataka in the 2010-11 season. KL Rahul was the very first batsman from Karnataka to score a triple century in the Ranji Trophy. The very same year he represented India in the Under 19 World Cup.
KL Rahul started his IPL career in 2013 with Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). His good domestic performance got him a call for the national Test team in 2014 and two years later, in the year 2016, he was picked for the ODI team.

KL Rahul IPL Journey
The very first IPL team Rahul played for was Royal Challengers Bangalore in the year 2013. He was picked for 1 crore. For the 2014 IPL season, he was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad. Later he again returned to Royal Challengers Bangalore in the year 2016.

He could not take part in the 2017 season due to his shoulder injury. Rahul was then purchased by KingsX1 Punjab in the 2018 season for an auction price of 11 crores. In the first match for his team, he scored the fastest 50 in the history of IPL.
KL Rahul’s 2020 IPL season was a memorable one. He was made the captain of the side. His team could not perform better but his performance as a player was outstanding. He was the orange cap holder of the tournament with the highest score of 670 runs in 14 matches. His highest score of 132* also came in this season itself.
