Day 1 of a very eventful IPL 2022 Mega Auction is finally over and what a day it was. This was an IPL Auction like never before and the thrill, excitement, and hype of the event were unmatched.
About 97 players went under the hammer tonight and leaving a few, almost all of them got into some team. Although there were a few controversial price tags for some players, the overall day was very sporting and teams took part in the Mega Auction with full gusto.

Costliest Player Of Mega Auction 2022
Ishan Kishan was the costliest player of the day, and as no marquee player is left to go under the hammer, we can consider that he is the highest earner of the IPL 2022 Mega Auction. His former side Mumbai Indians bought him for 15.25 Crores.
This was the first time that MI had bought a wicket-keeper for more than 10 Crores and we can say that it was worth the wait. Ishan Kishan became the highest Indian earner in IPL Auction history and the 4th highest earner overall after Chris Morris, Yuvraj Singh, and Pat Cummins.
Deepak Chahar was the second costliest player. He was bought by Chennai Super Kings for 14 Crores. Shreyas Iyer was the third-highest earner with 12.25 Crores from Kolkata Knight Riders.
However, it was also a night of disappointment for some star players like David Miller, Suresh Raina, and Shakib Al Hasan who failed to find a team. Although they still have a chance of being sold in the second round of auctions, it is surprising that they did not receive a single bid in the first round.
It was overall a day filled with ups and downs for the franchise and the core teams are already prepared. We can now guess which team has a stronger squad. At first glance, Delhi Capitals, Lucknow Super Giants, Punjab Kings, and Rajasthan Royals seem to have made a very strong squad.
