IPL Purple Cap Winners List From 2008 To 2021. The Purple Cap in the IPL is given to the player who has taken the most wickets in the tournament. This was announced by the then IPL commissioner Lalit Modi on 13 May 2008.
If two players have the same number of wickets at the end of a season, then the player with the better economy rate will be given the Purple Cap. However, this has not happened yet.
IPL Purple Cap winner gets a prize of 10 lakhs.
