IPL 2023 Auction: 2 Players From CSK, MI, RCB, DC, And KKR Who Could Be Released Before Auctions. As cricket fans gear up for the all-important ICC T20 World Cup 2022, some interesting developments have come regarding the 16th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). As per reports, BCCI is pondering upon starting the next IPL from March 2023. Also, the IPL 2023 auction is expected to take place by the end of this year.
This is an interesting development because IPL auctions have always occurred towards the start of the calendar year. The IPL 2023 auction, if conducted in Dec 2022, will hardly give time for the team owners to strategies their plans about whom to retain and release. Let us look at the 2 players from CSK, MI, RCB, DC, And KKR that can be released before the IPL 2023 auction.

- Mitchell Santner
Mitchell Santner can be one of the players CSK will release before the IPL 2023 auction. He had a below-average performance in the 15th edition. Santer also did not fit well into the scheme of things for CSK, and his batting order always got changed. Mitchell Santner scored only 22 runs in 6 matches and took just 4 wickets.
- Chris Jordan
Chris Jordan will most likely be another player with whom CSK will part ways in the IPL 2023 auction. Jordan, the England allrounder, had a very poor IPL 2022 outing. He took only 2 wickets in 4 innings. Jordan leaked runs at an economy rate of 9, which is high according to the T20 standard.

Tymal Mills has also not played that much cricket after the IPL 2022 in International cricket. He will most likely be one of the players to be released by the franchise.
- Basil Thampi
Basil Thampi, an uncapped Indian player, was roped in by Mumbai Indians ahead of the IPL 2022 auction. But, in the 15th edition, he had a disappointing run. Basil Thampi took only 5 wickets in 5 innings.
Basil Thampi also has not performed as per expectation in the domestic circuit, so the MI team management to consider him as one of the retained players in IPL 2023.

- Siddharth Kaul
Siddharth Kaul can be one of the players to be axed by RCB ahead of the IPL 2023 auction. He came in as a replacement for Mohammad Siraj, in IPL 2022 and played just a single match. With no noticeable performance in the Duleep trophy, it will be tough for Siddharth Kaul to retain his place in IPL 2023.
- Dawid Willey
David Willey played just 4 matches in IPL 2022, and only in 1 match, he got to bowl a full quota of 4 overs. He took only 1 wicket in the 11 overs bowled in IPL 2022. - Tim Seifert
Tim Seifert, the New Zealand wicket-keeper batsman, scored just 24 runs in 2 matches he got to play in IPL 2022. It seems the team management has less inclination towards retaining Tim Seifert ahead of the IPL 2023 auction. He has also not been included in the T20 World Cup 2022 squad, which will also not allow him to prove his mettle in front of the DC team management.
- Mustafizur Rahim
The Bangladesh fast bowler Mustafizur Rahim can be released ahead of IPL 2023 auction. DC already has 2 left arm bowlers, Khaleel Ahmad and Chetan Sakariya. The inclusion of Mustafizur Rahim seems not worth it for the team management.

Kolkata Knight Riders
Ajinkya Rahane will most likely be released by the KKR team management before IPL 2023 auction. He scored just 133 runs in 7 matches in the 15th edition. Since then, Rahane warmed the bench for KKR. His performance in domestic cricket is also not worth his retention in IPL 2023 squad for KKR.
- Sam Billings
Sam Billings was brought by KKR for 2 crores in IPL 2022 auction. But, he did not live up to the expectation of the franchise. Sam Billings has also failed to get a place in the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2022 squad for England. This will dimmish his chances of getting retained by KKR in the IPL 2023 auction.
