IPL 2025 Auction Day 1 Highlights: Team-Wise List Of Players Bought And Remaining Purse. Day 1 of the IPL 2025 auction has elapsed, a day when teams made heavy buys to fill slots. The day went through much heat amid the hot bidding wars, teams grappling for the best players. 72 players sold on Day 1 of the auction, many remaining unsold.
The total money spent on Day 1 by teams stands at Rs 467.95 crore. Rishabh Pant was sold to the Lucknow Super Giants for a record-breaking Rs 27 crore. This broke the record of a player being the most expensive in the IPL auction and was one of the biggest highlights of the day was
Another highlight was Rs 26.75 crore paid by Punjab for Shreyas Iyer, again on the heels of this hyperactive market. Iyer’s consistent batting and leadership skills add up to his ever-dreaming catch. Venkatesh Iyer was also sold to the Kolkata Knight Riders for Rs 23.75 crore, making him one of the most expensive auction players. Chahal was sold to Punjab Kings for Rs 18 crore, while Rabada went to Gujarat Titans for Rs 10.75 crore.

The auction saw some moves that were too shocking, wherein a couple of teams did not stick to their expected bidding pattern. Jos Buttler was sold to the Gujarat Titans for Rs 15.75 crore, while Mitchell Starc was sold to the Delhi Capitals for Rs 11.75 crore. Royal Challengers Bengaluru holds the highest amount left at Rs 39.25 crore followed by Mumbai Indians.
