Ace Cricketer ‘Mr. IPL’ Suresh Rains Announces Retirement From All Forms Of Cricket. Suresh Raina, one of the most prolific cricketers India has ever produced, has announced his retirement from all forms of Cricket. Suresh Raina had already said goodbye to International Cricket on 15th August 2020, the same day his best friend and mentor MS Dhoni had retired from International Cricket.

The 35-year-old cricketer last featured in the IPL in October 2021. He was not brought by any franchise in the IPL 2022 mega auction. Suresh Raina will also not be part of the Uttar Pradesh Ranji team from this season onwards.

It is assumed that Suresh Raina was approached by many franchises to represent their team in t20 leagues in South Africa, UAE, Sri Lanka, etc. According to the BCCI rules, an active Indian or domestic player cannot participate globally in any International T20 leagues.

This compelled Suresh Raina to hang his boots in all formats of recognized Cricket in India. Raina will be representing India in the road safety league, starting from 10th September.

The official announcement regarding the retirement was made by Suresh Raina via his Twitter handle today. In his tweet, he said, “It has been an absolute honor to represent my country & state UP. I would like to announce my retirement from all formats of Cricket.

I would like to thank BCCI, UPCA Cricket, Chennai IPL, Rajiv Shukla sir & all my fans for their support and unwavering faith in my abilities.”

Suresh Raina was one of the best utility players on the Indian cricket team. Raina started his international career with an ODI in 2005 against Sri Lanka and last represented India in July 2018 against England in the same format.

He made his Test debut against Sri Lanka in the year 2010. Raina’s T20 debut was against South Africa in 2006. He was very athletic and provided value to the team. Raina was the backbone of CSK in the IPL and represented CSK for 12 years.

Due to his consistency, he was nicknamed “Mr. IPL”. Suresh Raina is the fourth-highest run-scorer in IPL history, with 5,528 runs from 205 games. For Chennai Super Kings only, he has registered 4,687 runs.
