IPL 2025 Mega Auction: Full Details, Date, Venue, Players Pool, All You Need To Know: The mega event of the IPL 2025 auction that so many have been waiting for is scheduled for November 24-25, and for the first time, it will take place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. This international venue confirms the IPL’s increasing global appeal. It will also offer an interesting setting for the fans to watch one of the fiercest royalty wars in cricket.

Extensive Player Pool with 1,574 Registrations

1,574 players, including 1,165 Indian and 409 overseas players from 16 countries, have signed up for the auction, creating a record. 320 of the players are capped, 1,224 uncapped, and 30 from associate countries, underscoring the appeal of the IPL. Out of every international player in the tournament, South Africa leads with 91 player representation. Australia follows them with 76 players.

High-Profile and Noteworthy Players

Some most famous players in the upcoming auctions fall under the starting price category of INR 2 crores. Indian players like KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant, Shreyas Iyer, and Mohammed Shami are expected to top the list along with foreign players such as Mitchell Starc, Jonny Bairstow, Jos Buttler, and Jofra Archer.

England’s old hand at fast bowling James Anderson has also enlisted with a base price of 1.25 crores. He shall be bringing his wealth of experience into play. While Sarfaraz Khan and Prithvi Shaw set themselves at 75 lakhs. However, the cricketer who made headlines in the last season, all-rounder Ben Stokes from England, has pulled out of this season’s IPL.

Unconventional Compositions and Unexpected Participants

Italy’s Thomas Draca, who was a player for MI Emirates in the ILT20, is a stamp of the interesting contemporary twist of this auction. Such international representation is an indication that IPL is not only focusing on its own. Team Budgets and the Right to Match Cards

All the franchises are capped with a budget limit of INR 120 crore for the auction. Teams like Punjab Kings have a whopping budget of INR 110.5 crore, which means they have a high buying capacity in the auction. Also, no team has spent below INR 41 crore, which is a deficit lodged in the Rajasthan Royals’ remaining purse.

The right to match, which allows the teams to get back their players, is given to the bids that have not used this facility about their earlier player retention policies. There are four RTM cards available to Punjab Kings. Whereas no RTMs were opted by the franchises like Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders.
