The most expensive player in the auction was Rishabh Pant, who was purchased for 27 crore by the LSG. Shreyas Iyer was the second most expensive player, bought for INR 26.75 crore by the Punjab Kings (PBKS). It has generated quite an anticipation in the build-up to the exciting season ahead.
Among others in the auction was Jos Buttler, bought by Gujarat Titans (GT) for INR 15.75 crore. Mitchell Starc was purchased for INR 11.75 crore by Delhi Capitals (DC). Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have also spent huge for Venkatesh Iyer (INR 23.75 crore), which was quite surprising. All these acquisitions have strengthened both batting and bowling lineups, making them formidable opponents in the upcoming season.

Another excitement was added to the atmosphere when 13-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi became the youngest cricketer ever to be bought by an Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise, as Rajasthan Royals (RR) bought him for INR 1.1 crore.
