IPL 2025: Five Players Who Can Win Emerging Player Of The Season Award? The Emerging Player award is one of the most awaited awards of every season in the Indian Premier League. Its creation is meant to recognize and motivate young talents in the league. To be eligible, the player must be under 25 years as of the start of the tournament, not have played more than five Test matches or 20 ODIs before the onset of that season, and must not have been an awardee in previous IPL seasons. Also importantly, one must not have played more than 25 IPL matches before the start of the present season.

The winner is ultimately selected based on overall impact, consistency, match-winning performances, and potential shown through the season itself. The ongoing Indian Premier League saw several teenage talents emerging under pressure. Now, let us assess the top five 2025 Emerging Player Award contenders as per their current form.

1. Noor Ahmad (CSK)

Noor Ahmad has turned out to be one of the most effective spinners this season. The 24-year-old Afghan wrist spinner has taken 12 wickets in just 8 matches at a brilliant economy rate of 7.67. His standout performance came against the Mumbai Indians, where he produced sensational bowling with figures of 4/18 and was awarded Player of the Match. Noor is one serious contender, as he has been able to bully the big, high-class batters under pressure.

2. Sai Sudharsan (GT)

Sai Sudharsan is cementing his rising IPL reputation. The 24-year-old left-handed batter has scored 417 runs in 8 matches at an average of 52.13 and a strike rate of 152.19, making himself the top run-scorer of the season. He played a massive innings of 82 off 48 balls versus Rajasthan Royals, bearing the responsibility of anchoring Gujarat’s big total. Alongside Shubman Gill, Sai Sudarshan’s form is the main reason for Gujarat Titans leading the points table.

3. Digvesh Singh Rathi (LSG)

Digvesh Rathi, aged 25, has been a move-in effective spinner this season for LSG. He has picked up an outstanding nine wickets in nine matches at an even better economy rate of 7.28. Against the Mumbai Indians, he bowled economically and took middle-order wickets, earning the Player of the Match title.

4. Priyansh Arya (PBKS)

Priyansh Arya stunned everyone with one of the most explosive innings of IPL 2025 so far, hammering 103 off just 42 balls against Chennai Super Kings. At merely 24 years of age, Arya has injected flamboyance and aggression into the top order of Punjab’s batting lineup. Despite not having had many innings there just yet, with the 254 runs scored in 8 matches, Arya becomes one of the most promising young prospects of this season on account of the blistering strike rate of 201.54, besides the impact of his one century, which easily qualifies as one of the fastest centuries on record in IPL.

5. Aniket Verma (SRH)

Aniket Verma is 23 years old and got in some valuable runs from the lower order for SRH. He has scored 159 runs in 7 matches at an impressive strike rate of 187.06. His flexible batting and ability to hit sixes in a crisis have made him a new name as one of the exciting candidates for the honor of Emerging Player of the Year.
