Gujarat Titans Pacer Kagiso Rabada Returns to South Africa. Gujarat Titans’ fast bowler Kagiso Rabada has left the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, as he returned to South Africa to attend to an important personal matter. The franchise announced his exit on Thursday, stating, “Kagiso Rabada has returned to South Africa to deal with an important personal matter.”
Rabada played in the first two matches of the season for Gujarat, taking two wickets at an economy of 10.38. He notably missed the recent eight-wicket victory over Royal Challengers Bengaluru on Wednesday. With team captain Shubman Gill citing personal reasons for his absence.
The Gujarat Titans have not specified how long Rabada will be away or whether he will rejoin the squad later this season. Instead, the team brought in left-arm pacer Arshad Khan. Arshad wasted no time making an impact by dismissing Virat Kohli early in the match against Bengaluru.
Rabada’s exit is a big blow for the Gujarat Titans. GT had bought him for ₹10.75 crore in the IPL 2025 mega auction. The Titans will thus keep their pace options’ depth in mind for upcoming matches. That includes their next outing against Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 6 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.
