IPL 2025: Orange and Purple Cap Holders: As the Indian Premier League (IPL) tournament intensifies, individual performances are starting to determine positions in the top two of the most prestigious individual awards in the tournament—the Orange Cap and Purple Cap. Ten teams battle at different venues across India during the IPL 2025 season, and the competition has already witnessed thrilling matches, explosive batting, and match-winning bowling performances.
The tournament’s Orange Cap is awarded to the player with the highest run-scoring average. A player becomes the Orange Cap holder in the tournament as long as his name leads the run charts, and the season-end winner decision will be based on that. Similarly, the Purple Cap is given to the highest wicket-taker of the season. Just like the Orange Cap, the bowler who has the most wickets at any point during the tournament keeps wearing the Purple Cap, and the final winner is declared after the last match of the season.
Even as several matches have already been played, the competition for these two prestigious awards is picking up steam, and a host of players have already emerged from it as the most probable challengers.
