IPL 2025: 5 Players Lucknow Super Giants May Retain Ahead Of Auction: With the IPL 2025 auction approaching, teams are strategizing which players to retain to ensure a solid core for the upcoming season. Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) had a mixed campaign during the IPL 2024, and they will be keen on retaining players who have shown consistency and can act as anchors in future years. Having finished seventh on the points table after winning 7 of 14 games, here are five players LSG may consider keeping before the 2025 auction.
1. KL Rahul
Even though he has faced injuries over past seasons, KL Rahul is still LSG’s vital asset. One of IPL’s most consistent runners, his leadership on and off the field is also invaluable. In IPL 2024, Rahul scored 520 runs in 14 matches at an average of 37.14 with a strike rate of 136.16. Therefore, he is one of the candidates that they could retain because he can lead in situations where stability is required or try accelerating when needed.
2. Marcus Stoinis
Marcus Stoinis had an impressive IPL 2024, where he played a significant all-rounder role. Scoring 388 runs at a strike rate of 147.93 and 4 wickets at an economy of 9,00, Stoinis shows how much he is worth as a versatile player in the squad. His ability to hit big in the middle order and also break partnerships are two qualities that make him an invaluable asset to LSG.

3. Ravi Bishnoi
As a young leg spinner, Ravi Bishnoi has impressed everyone with his ability to take wickets while maintaining a low economy rate. In IPL 2024, Bishnoi was able to control the middle overs and thus take 10 wickets in 14 matches with an economy of 8.77. Since he has great potential and T20 formats are placing more importance on quality spinners, it may be possible for LSG to consider him for long-term use.
4. Nicholas Pooran
Nicholas Pooran has been for LSG, their best finishers, ever since he joined the team four years ago, and nowadays he is still doing that job perfectly well. For instance, in 2024 Pooram managed to hit 499 runs across 14 matches, having struck at a rate of 178.21, which was inclusive of five half-centuries. A lower-order batsman who plays aggressively but with patience will always be ready when he takes over, knowing that he is good at catching balls behind the stumps contributes towards his chances of being kept around.

5. Naveen-ul-Haq
In the 2024 season’s death overs, especially through Naveen-ul-Haq’s skills, he became outstanding as an Afghan pacer. He took up 14 wickets from ten games with 26.57 as average and 10.19 as an ordinary run-over rate for him. LSG will be likely to retain him before IPL 2025 because he adds value by being able to bowl under pressure, especially during the last two or three overs.
