Latest update on the men’s cricket world cup 2023
ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Challenge League A qualifier has been rescheduled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. 6 cricket nations namely Canada, Denmark, Malaysia, Qatar, Singapore, and Vanuatu were scheduled to take part in the second series in Canada from Aug 15-28 2021. This has been postponed to July/August 2022.
ICC is all set to expand the number of teams from 10 to 14 in the next cycle. Cricket’s highest body has faced criticism from associate countries. They feel associated countries are deprived of playing in the league due to a limited number of teams. Giving more teams a chance to play in the world Cup would also motivate them to do their best.
