The news came a day after Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma announced retirement after India’s T20 World Cup win in Barbados. Jadeja, who had been below his best, struggled to be a regular in this tournament and only occasionally delivered the performances identified with the seasoned wantaway. He took to Instagram to post a moving photo in memoriam of his departure from the twenty-over one-day game.

Renowned for his exceptional fielding skills, Ravindra Jadeja announced that he will continue playing ODIs and Tests. Since making his T20I debut against Sri Lanka in 2009, Jadeja has appeared in 74 matches, scoring 515 runs and claiming 54 wickets. In the T20 World Cup final in Barbados on Saturday, India defeated South Africa by seven runs to claim their second title in the tournament’s history.

After the victory, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli declared their T20 internationals’ retirements.
