BCCI Announces Revised Schedule for India’s Home Series 2024-25: The Board for Control of Cricket in India has revealed a new roadmap for Team India’s international home season in 2024-25 with major venue modifications and timeline adjustments. To have these matches moving along smoothly from various logistic and infrastructural developments going on all over the country, BCCI has released this revised schedule on August 13, 2024, for Team India’s international home season.

Changes Made To The Schedule

Among other things, one of the most significant transformations occurred when the first T20I between India and Bangladesh was moved away from Dharamsala, where it was supposed to be played on October 6, 2024. The renovation works going on in the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium forced the BCCI to move this match to the newly inaugurated Shrimant Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Stadium located at Gwalior. The city is thus getting ready to host historical events at this new venue, as it will be hosting its first-ever international fixture there.

It has also been decided to swap the venue of the first and second T20I of England’s tour to India in January 2025. On January 22nd, 2025, Kolkata is now assigned to host the very first T20I, which was originally planned for Chennai, and is meant for hosting as its second one within this series on January 25th, 2025 instead.

Kolkata police asked for this alteration because they had other commitments concerning Republic Day, which made them change their mind about holding otherwise planned matches.

Team India Upcoming Tours

In September 2024, India’s domestic season will commence with Bangladesh visiting for a two-match Test series and a three-match T20I series. The first Test match on the tour is slated for Chennai from September 19–23; whereas the second Test will be held in Kanpur from September 27 to October 1.

Next on the line after this trip by Bangladesh will be New Zealand’s visit to India in October 2024 for three Test matches that have been earmarked for Bengaluru, Pune and Mumbai. Following it, towards early 2025, the prominent white ball series against England comprising five T20Is and three ODIs will wrap up the home season.

The revised schedule is bound to generate tremendous excitement for cricket enthusiasts across the length and breadth of India as games are scheduled to take place at a variety of locations.
