BCCI Central Contracts: Sanju Samson, Shikhar Dhawan Returned To BCCI Contract List, Ravindra Jadeja Promoted To Grade A Plus. On March 26 supreme governing body of Indian cricket BCCI announces central contract list of Men in blue for the season 2022-23. This announcement has thrown up some surprises, with a few players being demoted or left out of the list entirely.
One of the biggest beneficiaries of the announcement is all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, who has been awarded an A+ contract for his outstanding performances across all formats of the game. However, there have been some marked demotions too, with KL Rahul dropping down from A to B.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar And Ajinkya Rahane Left Out From The Contract List
The BCCI’s decision to exclude some players from the contract list has raised some eyebrows as well. Some players like Ajinkya Rahane, Ishant Sharma,Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Wriddhiman Saha, Hanuma Vihari and Deepak Chahar have been left entirely by the BCCI’ central contract list.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar has played a few limited-over matches in the recent past, but some youngsters seem to have overtaken him. Talented player like Deepak Chahar’s exclusion from contract list is because of his injury issues.
BCCI Retained Shikhar Dhawan In The Contract List
On the other hand, the BCCI has included some deserving names in the Grade C category. The likes of Deepak Hooda, KS Bharat, and Arshdeep Singh have earned their place in this category. However, there was also a surprise inclusion in this category -Shikhar Dhawan.
Dhawan was only playing ODIs for the Indian team and seems to have lost his place to young dashing batsman Shubman Gill. But his inclusion in the contract list suggests that he is still in the plans of BCC selectors.
Sanju Samson Returned To The BCCI Contract List After Eight Years
Talented explosive batsman Sanju Samson has been the talk of the town in the last few months, as he didn’t get many opportunities despite playing some good knocks for the Indian team. Now BCCI included him in the Central Contracts after a long period of eight years.
Overall, the BCCI’s announcement has thrown up some interesting developments, with some players being rewarded for their performances, while others have been left out. Let’s have a look at the list of centrally contracted players for the BCCI. There are a total of 26 players on the list spread across four grades.
