Boxing Day Test: Day 1 Tickets for India vs Australia Sold Out in Record Time: The Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) will be the site of a much-awaited Boxing Day Test between India vs Australia. A record has already been set as the tickets for Day 1 are already sold out. It is part of the four matches played under the five-match Border Gavaskar Trophy series. It will be held on 26 December 2024 for one exciting cricketing action. This match will surely be in store for the showdown between the two teams.

Record rise in ticket sales for Boxing Day Test

Cricket Australia also reported that on top of this unprecedented demand for tickets for the opening day, such sales outnumbered those from the 2018-19 series by threefold. Ticket sales for Days 2 to 4 are already 5.5 times higher than that of the previous pre-COVID tour done in 2018-19. Truly, this demand shows that the attraction of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy remains strong. The cricket rivalry between India and Australia stays alive.

Joel Morrison, Cricket Australia’s Executive General Manager of Events and Operations, hailed the enthusiasm of the crowd. He says that this series is indicative of the great relationship between both nations. He also urged the fans to quickly buy tickets for the remaining days, as those for other series matches continue to go fast.

The Boxing Day Test, part of the famous tradition in Australian cricket, takes on an even more important note.
