Champions Trophy 2025: ICC Condemns Use of Oversized Screens at Karachi Stadium, Orders PCB to Refund: The International Cricket Council is unhappy with the installation of two oversized sight screens at the National Stadium in Karachi 2025, which blocked visibility from some seats. The ICC thus directed that the PCB refund the ticket fare to those who sat on the obstructed seats as a remedy ahead of the Champions Trophy.

The National Stadium has undergone extensive renovations in preparation for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, which Pakistan is to host. Among the renovations have been five-story buildings, digital LED screens, and new floodlights. However, the accentuation of oversized sight screens has indeed caused complaints from fans and officials. Many spectators, even those forced to sit behind screens, complained of visibility problems and were thus left distressed.

Obstruction of views has ignited a controversy ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025

ICC has relayed its disappointment to the PCB through a formal letter that indicates that any such obstruction shall not be condoned in an ICC-certified event, and the refund of ticket prices to all such disturbed spectators should, therefore, be complied with.

All fallacies should expect PCB visibly taking steps with corrective measures as the first match of the Champions Trophy is to be played between Pakistan and New Zealand at a Karachi venue. The board must either adopt corrective measures and make adjustments to the screens so that they are not able to cause obstruction or put into place alternate arrangements in terms of seats that would afford spectators uninterrupted viewing.

The situation throws a spotlight on the need for stadium facilities and better fan experience, especially with Pakistan hosting a major ICC event after several decades.
