Champions Trophy 2025: ICC Issues PCB Ultimatum Over Hosting Rights: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has given a 24-hour ultimatum for the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to give a nod or deny the proposed model for carrying out the Champions Trophy 2025. This scenario unfolded after India turned down the offer of playing in Pakistan since they cited security reasons. In the proposed hybrid mode, matches between India and the final would take place in Dubai. All others would be played in Pakistan.
The ICC assures PCB that in that arrangement, they would retain hosting rights for Pakistan. That includes all the benefits of such arrangements. In case PCB denies this proposal, ICC shall shift the tournament to some neutral venue. With South Africa and the UAE being likely alternatives.

PCB’s take on Hybrid Model of Champions Trophy 2025
The PCB still hasn’t made any comments on the matter. It has reportedly already approached legal and governmental advice concerning this issue. This event has rekindled the old flames between Indian and Pakistani cricket boards, which originated when India hesitated to tour Pakistan after the 2008 Mumbai attacks. The final decision is most likely to affect the Champions Trophy schedule and logistics, including the unlikely chance of having it postponed or canceled.
Now, the cricketing world sits with bated breath over whether a compromise can shred even a few of those visions from this original masterpiece.
