Dinesh Karthik Joins RCB As Batting Coach And Mentor Ahead Of IPL 2025. Dinesh Karthik returns as the new batting coach and mentor at Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) ahead of IPL 2025. After being a standout performer for Faf du Plessis’ RCB a few months ago, the unorthodox Karthik bid farewell to his IPL career with the Bangalore team. While he featured in IPL 2024, where he impressed with his 326 runs from 15 matches at an average of 36.22 and a strike rate of 187.35, he also hit 2 half-centuries and a top score of 83. He was motivational in RCB’s setup.
On his 39th birthday, Karthik broke the moment of his retirement as he told the public through a statement. He uttered to his close and beloved ones that he is eternally grateful for their non-stop supportive hands all through the way. Karthik did let out that he was on the verge of the decision to retire for quite a long period and that was the time to face the ‘new challenges.’
RCB officially announced on their social media that Dinesh Karthik is returning to the team in a new role as the batting coach and mentor of the RCB men’s team. They posted, “Welcome our keeper in every sense, Dinesh Karthik, back into RCB in an all-new avatar.” They added, “You can take the man out of cricket but not cricket out of the man! Shower him with all the love, 12th Man Army!”

Dinesh Karthik Important Role and RCB’s Up-and-Down Season
RCB encountered some dilemmas when they were put into a situation where they had to have six losses in a row. Nevertheless, they staged an incredible comeback by winning their next six matches. They secured a place in the playoffs by their victory over CSK in the last league game at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The Challengers were eliminated from the competition although they were able to put in all the energy they had and thus they lost to Sanju Samson’s RR in the Eliminator.
Karthik was the knight in shining armour who secured many games for his team by playing in the lower order. From 2008 Karthik has played 257 IPL matches in which he got 4842 runs with an average of 26.31 and a strike rate of 135.36, and also he got 22 half-century records.
