Duleep Trophy 2024: Schedule And Venues. Duleep Trophy 2024 will commence on September 5 in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh, for 17 days until September 22. This time, the BCCI has decided to alter the six-team zonal format and zonal selections; four teams will be there in the name India A, India B, India C, and India D. Senior national selection committee, led by Ajit Agarkar, will select these teams.
The tournament is considered a great platform for many of the fringe and young players to go out and showcase their talent, with centrally contracted players like Suryakumar Yadav, Shubman Gill, and Yashasvi Jaiswal. The performances of players like Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul, in contention after injury, will also be keenly monitored since they have direct bearings on future selections into the national team. Jasprit Bumrah is all certain to miss the series.
There is no place for veterans like Ajinkya Rahane and Cheteshwar Pujara; both stalwarts of Indian cricket over the last many years, they don’t find a place as selectors chose to look at the prospects for Team India.
