Hardik Pandya To Captain India In T20Is vs Sri Lanka; KL Rahul In Race For ODI Series Leadership. Star all-rounder Hardik Pandya will be the captain of India in the three-match T20 International series held against Sri Lanka from July 27. Concerning the ODI, a confirmed source said that Pandya took leave and also told the series captain Rohit Sharma who also took a break from his duties. “Hardik’s absence from the ODIs is due to personal matters he needs to address himself.” “Fitness is not an issue, despite what the press is telling you.” the official declared.

For the ODIs, KL Rahul will be the captain as he was the captain of the last ODI series in South Africa, Shubman Gill will be the vice-captain and Hardik Pandya will lead the team in T20Is.

BCCI secretary Jay Shah emphasized that even star cricketers should make themselves available for domestic engagements when not on national duty. However, exceptions will be granted to players like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah.
