Harmanpreet Kaur Led Team India To Host England And Australia From 6 December. In late December, the Australian women’s cricket team will tour India, engaging in a multi-format series featuring a Test match, three ODIs, and three T20Is.
The Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai will host the one Test and the three ODIs, while the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai will be the venue for the T20Is. It’s significant to note that the ODIs won’t be part of the ICC Women’s Championship.
England is set to tour India, commencing with three T20Is in Mumbai, followed by a Test match in Navi Mumbai. All T20Is, whether against England or Australia, will be night fixtures beginning at 7 pm IST. In contrast, the ODIs will be day-night matches, getting underway at 1.30 pm IST.
Apart from the international series, there are also three T20 matches scheduled at the Wankhede Stadium between India A and England A, taking place from November 29 to December 3. All of these matches are afternoon fixtures, commencing at 1.30 pm IST.
Women’s Test Matches and Departure from Tradition
The Test matches in these series will be played as day games, starting at 9.30 a.m. IST. Notably, the upcoming red-ball match against England will be the first women’s Test in Harmanpreet Kaur team since 2014 when India beat South Africa. In contrast to the traditional four-day format in women’s cricket, the women’s Ashes saw a five-day one-off Test match at Trent Bridge, marking only the second instance of a five-day Test match in women’s cricket.
