The event is being hosted by India, however due to the political ties between the two nations. How This Venue Game Started
Last year, when Jay Shah, the President of the Asian Cricket Council, stated that India would not be traveling to Pakistan for the Asia Cup 2023 due to ongoing political scenarios. Ramiz Raza, the President of the Pakistan Cricket Board, stated that if this occurs, India would be forced to face the consequences, and Pakistan would not be traveling to India for the World Cup.
However, it was announced last week that India will play its Asia Cup games in an undetermined Neutral location. After a temporary deadlock, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) are working swiftly to negotiate a deal that might result in both sides playing their tournament matches against one another outside of Pakistan. India will probably play their 2023 Asia Cup games in England, Oman, Sri Lanka, or the United Arab Emirates.
India and Pakistan have been placed in the same qualifying group for the six-nation Asia Cup, which will be contested in a 50-over format in the first half of September this year. Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Sri Lanka are included in the other category.
There will be a total of 13 games played over the course of 13 days, including the final. According to the 2022 Asia Cup format, the top two teams from each group go to the Super 4s, where the top two teams face off in the championship.
Countries That Have Qualified For ODI World cup 2023
Ten teams will compete in the 2023 World Cup, just like the previous one. The 2020–23 Super League competition is the primary path to qualifying. The top seven teams in this competition, together with the hosts (India), will advance to the World Cup.
The remaining five groups, along with five Affiliate groups, will move on to the 2023 qualification, where two groups will advance to the championship match.
As of now India, Bangladesh, England, New Zealand, Pakistan, Australia, Afghanistan, and West indies have qualified for the ICC ODI World Cup 2023.
