ICC Reveals Historic Prize Money of ₹92.53 Crore for Men’s T20 World Cup 2024. The Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 will have a whopping prize pool of USD 11.25 million announced by the ICC, with the winners guaranteed to take home at least $2.45 million. The 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 winners will receive the largest prize money ever awarded in any competition. This year, nine editions, and it will take 28 days to complete the tournament with 20 teams playing for victory. The upcoming tournament will mark the largest event ever hosted in a single country, spanning nine different stadiums across the West Indies and the USA.
The team that comes in second will be awarded at least $1.28 million, while the losing semi-finalists will each receive $787,500. Those who do not make it out of round two will get $382,500 per team, with $247,500 going to those between ninth and twelfth place inclusive. A prize of $225,000 awaits any squad finishing from thirteenth through twentieth positions. Besides these amounts mentioned above being awarded to them, there is also an extra amount given based on the number of games won by each team, excluding semi-finals and finals which is $31,154.
The competition will begin with an introductory round of 40 games. The Super 8s will follow, culminating with the semifinals taking place in Trinidad and Tobago and Guyana. The ultimate showdown is set to take place at Kensington Oval in Barbados where the men’s champions of 2024 will be decided.
Geoff Allardice, ICC Chief Executive, made a statement regarding the earth-shakings of it all, stating “This event is historic in so many ways so the prize money for the players should be to Hopes are high that we will see something really out of this world because there will be entertained hundreds of millions of fans around the globe by our players”
