Rohit Sharma and Other Team India Players Gear Up For Ranji Trophy Action: Several of India’s top cricketers to don domestic colors after a long time will be available in upcoming Ranji Trophy matches. It is scheduled to be played from January 23, 2025. The move comes from the cricketers, who want to get into match rhythm and form in preparation for international commitments.

Return of Rohit Sharma to Ranji Trophy

Ravindra Jadeja in the Saurashtra team

All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja will test his skill for Saurashtra against Delhi. The game for the Ranji Trophy match will be held in Rajkot. Training for the game at Rajkot with the Saurashtra team shows the match is going to witness him playing. Apart from the match between these two players, there is one between their teams, which will be another subplot in the game.

Participation of Other Notable Players

Among these appearances is Yashasvi Jaiswal with the Mumbai team against Jammu & Kashmir. So far, he has been seen playing alongside and is said to be looking forward to sharing the field with Rohit Sharma in the match. Shubman Gill will play for Punjab against Karnataka. Hoping that he can find the same form as he had before this tough outing in international cricket.

Rishabh Pant, the dynamic young wicketkeeper-batsman, will play in the Ranji Trophy for Delhi against Saurashtra. He will show his performance against that of Jadeja.

Focus on Domestic Cricket by the BCCI

The BCCI made it mandatory to play domestic cricket for the contract players. So that they remain eligible for national selection and central contracts. The objective is for the players to be in peak form and fitness and understand their contribution to the domestic circuit.

Noticeable Exclusion

There are appointments for senior players in the domestic circuit. But with minor injuries, Virat Kohli and co-vice-captain KL Rahul are exempted from the Ranji Trophy round. Kohli is having a neck ache, and for KL Rahul, the concern is an elbow issue he is having, with both having told the BCCI medical staff to consider his unavailability on that day.
