IND vs ENG 1st T20I: India Beat England By 7 Wickets: India beat England by 7 wickets in the first T20I of the series after an exciting affair at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. The modest target of 133 was chased by India when they made 133 for 3 in just 12.5 overs to flourish with performances with the bat and ball.

After winning the toss and opting to bat, England struggled with a disciplined Indian bowling attack. Arshdeep Singh became the highest wicket-taker for India in T20Is with 2 wickets. The visitors ended up managing just 132 runs in 20 overs. Varun Chakravarthy did a good job of sticking to their line and length along with variation throughout the innings to deny England any opportunities.

Abhishek Sharma’s performance propels India to a splendid victory in IND vs ENG 1st T20I.

India’s innings, however, was led by a powerful display of batting from Abhishek Sharma. Sharma blasted 79 runs off just 34 balls, an innings studded with five fours and eight huge sixes. His unabashed attacking style dispelled any chance of the English bowlers’ enemy to secure a foothold. India kept ticking along at one brisk score. Sharma’s innings stood out in an otherwise moderate chase.

Jofra Archer led the bowling unit of England, which took two wickets. But the target played too little to offer any resistance to the monumental batting lineup of India. Archer offered a glimpse of hope for them, albeit brief, but not enough runs to warrant a win.
