IND vs ENG ODI series: Jasprit Bumrah Ruled Out, Varun Chakravarthy Included In Squad: The BCCI has said that fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled out of the upcoming ODI series against England due to back spasms. Varun Chakravarthy has been added to the squad. Bumrah picked up this injury whilst playing in the final Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia. Where he was unable to bowl the second innings.

The selection committee has thus chosen leg-spinner Varun Chakravarthy as a replacement for Bumrah in the ODI squad. Chakravarthy was impressive in the T20I series and the IPL. Thus, he will be added to the spin options along with Kuldeep Yadav and Washington Sundar.

The revised Indian squad for ODI series against England: Rohit Sharma (Captain), Shubman Gill (Vice-Captain), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Washington Sundar, Axar Patel, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul (Wicketkeeper), Rishabh Pant (Wicketkeeper), Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, Harshit Rana, Mohammed Shami, Arshdeep Singh, and Varun Chakravarthy.

The one-day series opener on February 6, 2025, will be played at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur. After being defeated 4-1 in the preceding T20 series, Jos Buttler and Brendon McCullum will be wary of the return to form in the shorter format.

The Indian team management would be watching Bumrah’s recovery closely with hopes of getting him fit for the ICC Champions Trophy commencing on February 19, 2025. It would be vital for the course of India’s campaign in the tournament.
