India secured a 1-0 lead in the three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka on Saturday at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Pallekele.
After losing the toss at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium to Charith Asalanka-led Sri Lanka, India batted first and set a target of 214 runs. India scored 213/7 in 20 overs, with notable contributions from Suryakumar Yadav (58 off 26 balls), Yashasvi Jaiswal (40 off 21 balls), Rishabh Pant (49 off 33 balls), and Shubman Gill (34 off 16 balls).
Even though Pathum Nissanka made 79 runs off 48 balls and Kusal Mendis had 45 runs off 27 balls, the Sri Lankan innings crumbled down with no other player scoring over 20 runs at 170 runs in 19.2 overs. Riyan Parag from India was the one who got three wickets while Arshdeep Singh and Axar Patel got two each and Mohammed Siraj and Ravi Bishnoi got one each.

However, India won by 43 runs over Sri Lanka in the first T20I at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium after chasing a target of 214 runs. With this win, India now leads the three-match series by 1-0.
