Ind vs WI 1st Test Highlights: Ashwin Dominated With His Fifer, Rohit, And Jaiswal Help India Reach 80/0. Day 1 of the 1st test between India and West Indies settles with India trailing down Indies by 70 runs. In the meantime, India broke the back of the West Indies by halting them at a score of a meager 150. India’s pacers looked threatening with the new ball after losing the toss and being ordered to field, challenging the Windies hitters with some fine line and length bowling.
Ashwin, on the first day of the first Test against the West Indies, secured his 33rd five-wicket haul to give India the upper hand. In 24.3 overs, he took five wickets for 60 runs, resulting in a West Indies collapse. Alternatively, India has done some great work in the batting section as well.
With these five wickets, Ashwin has also breached the 700 wickets mark in his international career. Ashwin also took the father and son duo wicket. A rare sight but this has happened a few times. 12 years ago he took the wicket of Shivnarine Chanderpaul and yesterday he took the wicket of his son Tagenarine Chanderpaul.

For the first time, India has changed the course of the opening duo by putting Yashasvi Jaiswal upfront. Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal opened the Indian batting line. Jaiswal played his maiden international game for Team India and scored 40 runs off 73 balls. Rohit, on the other hand, partnered well by adding 30 runs from his bat.
India, on the stumps of Day 1, scored a decent 80 for no loss of wickets and marked their dominance against the Windies in their land. The young talent, Jaiswal, will be a sight to behold on Day 2 of this first Test match. There are a lot of mixed speculations about this young guy.
