This loss is India’s third in nine T20I matches against Zimbabwe. It’s a notable win for Zimbabwe, especially since they missed qualifying for the recent T20 World Cup. Zimbabwe now leads the five-match T20I series 1-0 after their victory at Harare Sports Club on Saturday.
India’s tour of Zimbabwe kicked off today with the first T20I at the Harare Sports Club. Skipper Shubman Gill won the toss and elected to field first. Riyan Parag and Abhishek Sharma debuted for India, while Dhruv Jurel played his first T20 international match. Ravi Bishnoi performed best, helping India limit Zimbabwe to 115 for 9 in 20 overs. Bishnoi took four wickets for just 13 runs in his four overs, while Washington Sundar picked up two wickets. Mukesh Kumar and Avesh Khan each contributed with one wicket.
India lost at home by 13 runs to Zimbabwe as their batting order faltered in the second inning, particularly the Indian team despite the talented players involved, in what was a hard-fought low-scoring game. After that, Zimbabwe made 115/9 in 20 overs, with Bishnoi making a 4-wicket haul. Zimbabwean players accurately improved their bowling and fielding skills, thus they were able to manage the interesting 13-run victory.
