Distinguished figures, including Anurag Singh Thakur, the Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting and Youth Affairs and Sports, PT Usha, the IOA President and legendary sprinter, along with other senior officials attended the unveiling event to add glamour to the send-off ceremony.

Representing India’s diversity and sporting prowess, the Indian contingent showcased prominent athletes from various disciplines. Among them were Indian hockey goalkeepers PR Sreejesh (men) and Savita Punia (women). Including shooting sensation Manu Bhaker, and Tajinderpal Singh Toor, the 2018 Asian Games shot put gold medalist.

In the previous edition of the Asian Games in 2018, India won an impressive total of 70 medals, including an outstanding 16 gold medals.
