Earlier, Virat Kohli scored 27 runs off 13 balls and engaged in friendly banter with Ishant Sharma while hitting boundaries off him. However, Kohli eventually got out to Ishant, who had the last laugh. Ishant humorously sent off Kohli after his dismissal.

DC struggled in their batting lineup without Rishabh Pant. Although Jack Fraser-McGurk started well, the middle order couldn’t handle the pressure. Axar Patel tried his best but didn’t get enough support. Without their captain, DC lacked coordination, leading to a 47-run loss to RCB, who secured a vital win in their quest for the playoffs.
