TATA company will sponsor IPL 2024, and the Board of Control for Cricket in India has granted approval for the Tatas’ request for an extended partnership. Consequently, the BCCI plans to grant the Tatas the right-to-match privilege allowing them to make a superior bid in the title sponsorship for the period from 2024 to 2028.

The current champions, Chennai Super Kings now hold the highest budget for the IPL 2024 auction after releasing three additional players, totalling around INR 30 crores. Apart from the decision to release Ben Stokes valued at Rs 16.25 crore, there is an additional amount freed up from Ambati Rayudu (Rs 6.75 crore) who retired from the IPL last year.
Players Traded Before IPL 2024 Auction
The deadline for all 10 franchises to complete and submit their retention lists for the upcoming auction is set to close on Sunday, November 26, marking the end of the IPL 2024 trade window. In the initial trade move leading up to the upcoming season Mumbai Indians (MI) successfully acquired the services of West Indies versatile bowling all-rounder Romario Shepherd through a trade with Lucknow SuperGiants (LSG). The 28-year-old, previously associated with Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the IPL joined MI at his existing price of ₹50 lakh.

In the second trade agreement, executed as a swap Team India’s fast bowler Avesh Khan transitioned to Rajasthan Royals (RR) from Lucknow Super Giants. However, In exchange, the left-handed batsman Devdutt Padikkal traded to LSG from RR. Reports suggest a significant IPL trade might occur with Gujarat Titans’ captain, Hardik Pandya, expected to return to the Mumbai Indians for the upcoming 2024 season. Pandya initially belonged to Mumbai before joining the Titans when the franchise was established in 2022. During his two seasons with Gujarat Pandya led them to the IPL final on both occasions. Notably, he played a crucial role in the Titans securing their maiden IPL trophy in the inaugural season of 2022, followed by a runner-up finish in 2023.
