IPL Auction 2025 Set 1 and 2 Highlights: Rishabh Pant Sold For Record 27 Crores: The IPL auction for 2025 started with a bang, as both sets 1 and 2 witnessed record-breaking deals and surprising moves. In the marquee Set 1, Rishabh Pant sold to the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) for a record INR 27 crore, becoming the most expensive at an IPL auction. Record broken—the previous record was held by Mitchell Starc.
The set 1 auction of the season also had Indian middle-order batsman Shreyas Iyer sold to the Punjab Kings for INR 26.75 crore and briefly crowned as the most expensive player until the Pant deal was struck. Arshdeep Singh sold to PBKS for 18 crores via RTM. Another big fish was Mitchell Starc, who was acquired by the Delhi Capitals for INR 11.75 crore.
Set 2 was highlighted by the sale of Liam Livingstone to Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) for a whopping INR 8.75 crore; however, Chahal was sold to Punjab Kings for INR 18 crore.

Among other important deals in Set 2, David Miller found himself sold to LSG for 7.50 crores; Mohammed Shami moved to Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) for 10 crores; and Mohammed Siraj moved to Gujarat Titans for INR 12.25 crores. Yuzvendra Chahal is bought by PBKS for 18 crores. Kl Rahul is pickup by Delhi Capitals for 14 crores.
The IPL 2025 auction has already broken several records. It is expected that the teams are going to make even higher bids in the further sets. Several more players are yet to come in the upcoming sets of IPL 2025 auction.
