IPL 2025 Mega Auction: 4 Players Rajasthan Royals Might Release Ahead Of Auction. In a decisive confrontation in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 Rajasthan Royals (RR) were dealt a major blow when they lost to SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) by 36 runs in Qualifier 2. The game was played on Friday, 24th May at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Despite their good performance throughout the season, RR could not match that of SRH, having seen them out of the tournament.
It was the end of another successful season for the Rajasthan Royals (RR), as they lost the title after fighting hard for it once again. They have had an interesting run in the last few years. The team had a standout year in 2022 when they were only one step away from winning. They followed this up with a solid performance in 2023 where they finished fifth narrowly missing out on playoffs.
This time around however their journey stopped at the playoffs exit but consistent displays will always be remembered. Even so, some players may have performed differently than anticipated or were not given enough chances to showcase their talent; thus, the RR is likely to let them go before the mega auction for IPL 2025. This is a list of four players who probably won’t feature in Rajasthan Royals next season:

Donovan Ferreira
When the Rajasthan Royals signed Donovan Ferreira in the IPL 2023 auction, people were very excited because they thought he would do well. He had done some very good things with his bat during a South African limited-overs competition and also helped out by bowling sometimes too. Despite this, however, he never played at all that year for them.
He played just 2 matches in 2024 and scored 1 and 7 runs respectively so he was not part of XI as well. The proteas expect the South African entertainer not to be included in the Rajasthan Royal team next year after failing so impress with the bat during his short stints on the field this year.
Navdeep Saini
Despite being one of the most talented fast bowlers in recent times, Navdeep Saini’s abilities have largely been overlooked due to other proficient players holding similar positions in the RR team. He has only played four matches so far in the ongoing IPL 2022 season and has taken six wickets. However, his economy rate has been on the higher side, crossing 12.
In all of the games during the 2024 season, Navdeep Saini didn’t play, as the Royals had Avesh Khan, Sandeep Sharma, and Trent Boult for the team’s pace battery. Saini’s potential was not realized because he never got into the XI, indicating how tough competition has become among teammates. It seems likely that this 31-year-old quick will have to look for another buyer at the next mega auction if he wants to save his IPL career since few chances and many people are fighting for places.

Rovman Powell
In the 2024 IPL auction, Rajasthan Royals spent more than ₹7 crore to buy Rovman Powell’s services with the aim that the West Indies captain could perform well but while playing for the team in a pink jersey this didn’t happen. During the nine innings that he played, Powell could only score 103 runs at an average of 17.17; his best performance being 27 runs only.
There were moments of inconsistency in his performance against SunRisers Hyderabad. He missed out on scoring 13 runs needed off the last over in one of the most important matches during the league stage and failed to play a better inning with only 6 runs from 12 balls in Qualifier 2. Some disappointingly poor displays like these make people think that maybe this player won’t stay with Rajasthan Royals next year.
Kuldeep Sen
Rising fast bowler Kuldeep Sen’s ascend slowed down similarly to Navdeep Saini’s during the buildup of the season. Before the 2024 campaign, Rajasthan Royals exchanged Devdutt Padikkal for Avesh Khan thus obtaining an experienced alternative that strengthened their pace department. This move created more internal rivalry within the team thereby making it hard for Sen to nail down a regular place.
However, Sen was inconsistent and had a high economy rate which raised concerns among team management despite his promising performances. It is improbable that the Royals will retain him for the next IPL season because they have a strong pace department with experienced bowlers. Sen must do exceedingly well in domestic as well as other T20 leagues if he wants to resurrect his career in this tournament proving himself capable under diverse conditions.
