IPL 2025 Mega Auction: Everything You Need To Know: The much-awaited IPL 2025 Mega Auction will be held on November 24th and 25th in Jeddah. The auction will start commencing at 1 PM IST. This auction is expected to be action-packed. All the franchises will be looking for ways to add more players who will strengthen their sides in the upcoming IPL 2025 season.
Player Pool and Available Slots
A total of 574 players have been shortlisted, which include: 366 Indian and 208 foreign players; and 03 local players. Franchises will be entitled to fill in 204 slots, with 70 of those being for overseas players. Also, no team can have a squad exceeding 25 players, inclusive of those already retained.

Base Price Categories
In the bid process, various base price level articles have been identified, giving a better mix of both the global icons and the rising stars:
2 crores: 81 players (including the likes of Jos Buttler, Rishabh Pant, and Mitchell Starc).
1.5 crore: 27 players (including players such as David Miller and Rachin Ravindra).
1.25 crore: 18 players (including players like James Anderson and Marco Jansen).
1 crore: 23 players (such as Mayank Agarwal and Alex Carey).
75 lakh: 92 players, including domestic performers such as Prithvi Shaw and Sarfaraz Khan.
50 lakh: 8 players.
40 lakh: 5 players.
30 lakh: 320 players of rather unknown status, further being mostly unrated.
Retention Overview and Budgets
Teams have set their retention lists, and only 46 players have been kept in total by the franchises. The most budgeted team in the table is the Punjab Kings with 110.5 crores, and a few other teams like the Kolkata Knight Riders and the Rajasthan Royals have lesser slots but with a more concentrated approach. Teams will organize to manage expenditure in an optimum way in a bid to have a competitive squad less expected with the star players whose bids are more likely to be high.

Star players such as Rishabh Pant, Shreyas Iyer, Mohammed Siraj, and Yuzvendra Chahal are most likely to be the fan favorites. The IPL 2025 auction will not include Cameron Green and Jofra Archer.
