Legends League Cricket (LLC) 2023 AL Vs IM: Robin Uthappa, and Gautam Gambhir power India Maharajas to a huge win over Asia Lions. On March 14, Asia Lions (AL) faced India Maharajas (IM) at West End Park International Cricket Stadium in Doha in the Legends League Cricket (LLC) Masters. Asia Lions won both games in this edition of LLC Masters; whereas Gautam Gambhir-led India Maharajas lost both games.
Upul Tharanga Struck A Half-Century For The Lions
India Maharajas won the toss and choose to bowl first. Asia Lions openers Upul Tharanga and Tillakaratne Dilshan gave a flying start to their team. The opening pair added 73 runs in 8.4 overs. Stuart Binny dismissed Dilshan on 32. Tharanga continued to play attacking strokes and brought up his half-century in just 41 balls.
Tharanga made 69 runs off 48 balls with the help of seven fours and two sixes. Abdul Razzaq gave the finishing touches to the total of Asia Lions. Lions posted 157 in front of Maharajas in 20 overs after losing five wickets.
Robin Uthappa And Gautam Gambhir Secured The First Win For India Maharajas
While chasing the total, India Maharajas openers Robin Uthappa and Gautam Gambhir gave a whirlwind start to their team. They batted explosively in the power play to score 65 runs. Uthappa completed his fifty in just 27 balls. Both openers tore into Lion’s bowling attack and added 159 runs in just 12.3 overs to win the first game for Maharajas in the tournament.
Uthappa played a sensational knock of 88 runs off just 39 balls. His knock was studded with 11 elegant boundaries and five gigantic sixes. He struck 12 stylish fours in his sparkling innings. Gautam Gambhir smashed 61 on just 36 balls. Their rambunctious partnership helped India Maharajas to defeat Asia Lions by 10 wickets.
