Legends League Cricket (LLC) Masters 2023: Asia Lions Registered Second Straight Win By Defeating World Giants. On March 13, World Giants and Asia Lion were at odds with each other in Legends League Cricket (LLC) Masters. In this third edition of the LLC Masters, both teams secured one win before this game. Asia Lions were at the top of the points table with two points in one game.
Match was delayed due to a wet outfield. As much time was wasted due to the wet outfield, the game was reduced to 10 over for each team. World Giants captain Aaron Finch won the toss and opted to bowl first.
Pacer Ricardo Powell proved the decision of his captain right by dismissing Lions opener Upul Tharanga in the second over of the innings. Asia Lions lost two more wickets in the next few overs. Their skipper Shahid Afridi was dismissed on duck by spinner Chris Gayle.
Misbah-Ul-Haq Played A Whirlwind Knock
Asia Lions openers Tillakaratne and Misbah-ul-Haq rescue their team from trouble and added 60 runs quickly. Both batsman dealt in boundaries in the last few overs and entertained the spectators. Dilshan remained unbeaten on 32 off 24 balls. Misbah made a quickfire 44 runs off just 19 balls with the help of four boundaries and three sixes.
Asia Lions Registered A Clinical Win
While chasing the target posted by Asia Lions, World Giants openers Lendl Simmons and Chris Gayle gave a flying start to their team. However, Lions skipper Afridi bagged the wickets of Gayle and Simmons in an over. Next batsman Shane Watson and Aaron Finch couldn’t add much total.
Abdul Razzaq removed Ricardo Powell from the duck. World Giants fell short 36 runs from the target. Asia Lions defeated World Giants by 35 runs in their second game of the LLC Masters.
