Manchester City is looking for a replacement to fill in the void following Rodri’s injury in the Champions League match against Arsenal over the weekend. Pep Guardiola revealed that Manchester City’s star midfielder would be out for a long, long time.
Rodri, who is set to undergo surgery, will miss the rest of the season leaving the club in a dilemma. Guardiola told reporters that Rodri, 28, suffered a knee injury in the Manchester City – Arsenal match, which concluded with a 2-2 draw, when he crashed with Thomas Partey. The manager believes it will take months for their player to get into full form for competition.
However, Guardiola said they don’t have the definitive. But Manchester City understands that given the extent of Rodri’s injury, he will be out for a long time. It should be noted that Manchester City did not lose the last 48 Premier League games that Rodri played.

Manchester City Determined to Have a Good Season
Manchester City expressed concerns for Rodri who had also sustained a knee injury in December 2023. The manager said it’s a huge blow to be without the best midfielder in the world. But Manchester City is determined to have a good season and find a replacement, to fill in for the irreplaceable Rodri.
Guardiola expects a lot from his players. He highlighted how the team overcame the absence of some key players last season – Manchester City played without Erling Haaland for three months, and Kevin De Bruyne for five months. The Manchester City boss pointed out that alternative solutions exist, and they must go with them.
