Five-time ODI World Cup winner Australia won the toss and decided to bowl first. Rohit Sharma-led team India was unbeatable during the whole tournament. They won 10 consecutive matches and reached the final.
India started well but bowled out at 240 in 50 overs. Skipper Rohit Sharma made 47 in just 31 balls, KL Rahul and Virat Kohli added 66 and 54 runs. Mitchell Starc took 3 wickets. Australia beat India by 6 wickets and won 6th ODI World Cup title.
