Paris Olympics 2024: Indian Olympic Medal Winners From 1928 To Date. India has won 34 medals in 25 games so far. KD Jadhav was the first Indian to win an Individual Olympic medal in Helsinki in 1952. Wrestler Sushil Kumar and Shuttler PV Sindhu are the only Indians who won two medals.

The Indian hockey team won its first Olympic medal (Gold) in 1928 in Amsterdam. They scored 29 goals without reply in 5 matches to win its first medal. Hockey wizard Dhyan Chand scored 14 goals, including a hat-trick in the final against the Netherlands. India has won 8 Gold medals in Hockey so far. After a long gap of 41 years Indian hockey team won Bronze in the Tokyo Olympics.

Popular athletes like Neeraj Chopra and PV Sindhu come to mind when discussing Olympic medals. Mnau Bhaker became the first Indian women Shooter to win any Olympic medal.
