Olympic 2028 Updates
Event organizers announced their recommendation to include cricket in the Los Angeles Games, bringing cricket’s potential appearance at the 2028 Olympics one step closer. Cricket has made appearances at recent Commonwealth Games, specifically in Kuala Lumpur in 1998 and Birmingham in 2022. However, the sport hasn’t been featured in the Olympic Games since England secured the Gold medal by defeating France in a one-off match held in Paris in 1900. Now, there’s a possibility of a comeback at the Olympics in the USA in five years, as LA28 officials have recommended cricket’s inclusion in the list of sports presented to the IOC for approval, aiming to be part of the Games of the XXXIV Olympiad.
