PSL Draft 2025: Date, Venue, Pick Order, Player Categories, and All You Need to Know: Preparations have started with a train for the much-anticipated 10th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). The player draft is set to happen on January 11, 2025. For the first time this year, the draft is going to take place in the beautiful port city of Gwadar, the first-ever hosting in Balochistan.
Draft Schedule:
Date: January 11, 2025
Venue: Gwadar, Balochistan
Ceremony Start Time: 5:00 PM
Draft Stars at 6:00 PM
Order of the Pick:
The Pakistan Cricket Board has revealed the pick order for the draft:
1. Lahore Qalandars
2. Karachi Kings
3. Quetta Gladiators
4. Peshawar Zalmi
5. Multan Sultans
6. Islamabad United
This order will be reversed for the Platinum category selections and the other category selections. Teams are obliged to declare their retained players on 4th January, 2025.

Player Categories
The PCB has revamped categories for 87 local players under five different tiers:
Platinum (13): Includes household names such as Babar Azam, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Shadab Khan, etc.
Diamond (16): Includes Hasan Ali, Mohammad Amir, etc.
Gold (30): Emerging stars and experienced performers.
Silver (16): Young players just starting their careers.
Emerging (12): Select young talent likely to do well.
The new registration window for foreign players commenced on December 12, 2024. International stars have shown an interest in taking part in the league in order to make it a more competitive league.

Australia: Usman Khawaja, Alex Carey, Sean Abbott, Matt Short, David Warner, Chris Lynn
Bangladesh: Mustafizur Rahman, Shakib Al Hasan
England: Luke Wood, Alex Hales, Dawid Malan, Tom Kohler-Cadmore, David Willey, Jason Roy, Tom Curran.
New Zealand: Mark Chapman, Adam Milne, Tim Southee, Colin Munro, Martin Guptill, Daryl Mitchell.
South Africa: Rilee Rossouw, Corbin Bosch, Rassie van der Dussen

Schedule of PSL 2025
The PSL will once again see its 10th edition run from April 10 to May 25, 2025, comprising six teams playing in a double round-robin format from which playoffs will ensue. Matches will be held across the four major cities of the country, such as Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Multan.
With an expansion of the league from six to eight teams starting from the 2026 season, PCB foresaw making it an even bigger draw by commercially exploiting it and giving emerging talent more opportunities. As soon as the draft of PSL 2025 comes near, franchises and fans start waiting for the players who add a spark to the tournament. This is going to be the 10th season of PSL.
