RCB Trade Shahbaz Ahmed For SRH’s Mayank Dagar Ahead Of IPL 2024 Auction- Reports. Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have agreed to swap players Mayank Dagar and Shahbaz Ahmed for the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Cricbuzz reports that the deal has been finalised with the official announcement imminent.
Shahbaz consistently featured in RCB’s playing XI serving as the second spinner and a lower-order batter. Secured for ₹2.4 crore in the 2022 mega-auction, he had a stellar season, earning his maiden national team call-up. However, his performance dipped in the 2023 season managing only 42 runs and one wicket in 10 matches.
Dagar, conversely, shares a comparable profile with Shahbaz as a bowling all-rounder, featuring as a slow left-arm orthodox spinner and a right-handed batter. Initially part of the Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings) in 2018, SRH acquired him in the mini-auction for ₹1.8 crore. He made three appearances for the franchise in the 2023 season securing one wicket with an economy rate of 7.55.
BCCI sources have suggested the likelihood of this trade with an official announcement anticipated by Saturday night or Sunday morning.

RCB Considers Harshal Patel, Hasaranga Exit While SRH Evaluates Harry Brook Before Deadline
The teams must submit the retained and released players roster by Sunday, November 26, allowing them to engage in player trades until the deadline. With new coaches Daniel Vettori for SRH and Andy Flower for RCB. Both teams face crucial decisions leading up to the retention deadline and the subsequent mini-auction.
Releasing players aims to enhance the franchise’s budget for the 2024 mini-auction. RCB is exploring the possibility of freeing up funds through the potential departures of Harshal Patel and Wanindu Hasaranga. Both players had somewhat disappointing performances in 2023 despite being signed for substantial amounts in the IPL 2022 mega-auction. The release of both players would provide RCB with a substantial boost of ₹21.25 crore to their purse.
SRH is deliberating the future of their high-value acquisition Harry Brook. Despite the England international scoring a century in the 2023 season, he endured a challenging campaign. The 2016 IPL champions could witness a purse increment of ₹13.25 crore if they opt to release Brook into the player pool.
